How CAGR works
Compound annual growth rate measures the annualized rate at which a value would have grown if it had increased at a constant compounded rate over the selected period.
For example, an investment that grows from 10,000 to 15,000 over five years has a CAGR of approximately 8.45% per year. CAGR smooths the total change into an equivalent annual compounded rate.
CAGR formula
CAGR represents the annual compounded growth rate between the starting and ending values over the selected number of years.
